Well, thought I'd go ahead and come up for air (from RE and TSM) and post a few pics of my current project...Route: St. Louis & North Arkansas, or the "North Arkansas" for short.Era: 1901Locale: Northern portion of the Ozarks in southern Missouri and northern Arkansas.Theme: Based on a prototype line, modeled as if the line is being constructed.Length: About 33 miles plus two branches, one 2 and one 3 miles in length.Topography: After leaving Seligman (on a 3% downgrade), the line twists and turns through tumbled Ozark hills containing small "boomtowns" every few miles. Timetable towns:Seligman (MO)
Pender
Walden (Ark)
Beaver
Gaskins Switch
Junction
Eureka Springs (at end of 2 mile branch)
Tunnel
Grandview
Freeman
Berryville (at end of 3 mile branch)These screens are in-progress shots of Seligman, MO. (Still have some odds and ends, clutter, and weeds to place.) Overall, still feel like I've got quite a ways to go yet, but getting much closer to the time that I can go down through the route and place the objects and finish it out. All objects/textures/etc are custom. When running on it, the entire route has a very different feel and look to it. The activities for it will be quite different and will include a short tutorial on how to operate via train orders, which will be the method for train movements on the route. 1901: Definitely a time when railroader's were tough as nails... and had better pay attention to their train orders!Andre Ming

RE: Something A Bit Different...

Thanks for the kind words of encouragement all.I tend to use screen pics as a way of taking a fresh look at my progress. For example, as to the above pics, when in RE it was really looking "finished"... but once I took pics within the sim and then looked at the screens for a bit... I see all sorts of things I still need to do... the "sterility" of the scenes now being my biggest concern.Hack: The little bridge is a lightweight timber bridge for a wagon road. Today the Ozarks... tomorrow the World... V Scale marches on!Andre Ming
