Hmmm I don't know what's wrong with the link.If you want the route, it is compressed to RAR format. However, would it be illegal for me to mail you the file? The route is freeware, so I don't know.If you want it, and it's not illegal in any way, PM me.-You can never have too much inner beauty. Or socks.

RE: For those who want a Surfliner-esque Route

Thanks for the heads up, it's a great place to run the surfliner! Here are a few screenshots I took while running the route. What an amazing trainset, this has really set a new standard. If the default trainsets in MSTS2 are half this good I'll be quite impressed. The sounds are worth the download alone! I really can;t believe I'm still getting a route along with more rolling stock too! Top notch work.

RE: For those who want a Surfliner-esque Route

Thanks for the comments on the trainset, Dave. Looking at your cabview however, leads me to think you might be running the sim in 16-bit mode. If so, then I would suggest increasing to 32-bit - the sim will look and run better, since the 16-bit code is not fully optimized. Cheers!

RE: For those who want a Surfliner-esque Route

Dumb question, but here it goes. Marc, how do you change it to 32 bit? It seems all my display options are 16 bit.

I'd suggest if going into "Display" in the Train Simulator and setting it to 32 bit doesnt' work, right click on your desktop, go to "properties", then "settings", then change the option to 32 bit. That should help.-You can never have too much inner beauty. Or socks.

Yes, and most definately yes!If you stop at every station, that's something like 20 or so stations! When I run it, I only make it so I stop at 12 stations. And yes, there are plenty of grade crossings to keep you occupied. -You can never have too much inner beauty. Or socks.

"Attention all amtrak crews on the oakville crew base, you will be running on the Surfliner-esque Route. To get you used to running surfside."
"Your first run is in 1 hour. Get ready!"Just got that message from HQ

RE: For those who want a Surfliner-esque Route

Rob, one thing to watch regarding level corssings is that they don't seem to give as much warning of the crossing as we're used to in North America (I know ina lot of European countries they don't sound horns at crossings, maybe this is why?)

RE: For those who want a Surfliner-esque Route

Ok, Thanks for the heads up Dave.LOL- running the route i leave a terminal- enter tunnel- exit to station, enter another then exit at another station.
There is no scenery past that station.Any tips on where the "Surf" line is?Thanks

RE: For those who want a Surfliner-esque Route

For those who want a Surfliner-esque Route – image 23

Ah, yes, this old paradox.Well, in a nutshell... this route is based on 2 time periods of the real thing... just a couple years ago, they completely enclosed almost the whole line in a tunnel. My suggestion is to make a new path in the Activity Editor making sure you're using the line that's curvy and has lots and lots of stations.Or, I could send you MY paths... either one works fine.If running in Explore Mode, it sounds like you're running from Savona, when you get to FINALE LIGUIRE, make sure you're in the LEFT-MOST tunnel. That should take you to the Surf. Hope that helped.-You can never have too much inner beauty. Or socks.
