Hopefully someone has been in a similar situation and can give me
some advice with this problem.I use AOL as my isp. AOL uses a proprietary email program that does
not use smtp. I have no email program other than what is provided by AOL. What can I do in order to be able to use the email function in
YardDuty? Appreciate any help I can get. Thanks.

I have the same problem. I just make sure that I don't try to deliver anybody else's cars. I still populate sidings, and create trains to upload to the server for others to run, but I can't deliver their cars. Still enjoying the game though.Paul Metzger

"...still enjoying the game though."Good point. You can still play and enjoy the game, even though delivering cars is prohibited. Also, you can still RECEIVE emails using a free online email service.Jim

RE: Help with email

I found that if you download a train + take to sorting siding for
sorting + a few wagons are for location (ie West Colton) i instigate an E-mail myself with list of wagons for location
+ copy history of history file to E-mail and send to person using
name checkname checked with members list on YARDDUTY Yahoo list John

RE: Help with email

Ok guys. I may ... may have a solution. I own a bunch of domains and can set up email accounts with smtp ability for you. But the only way it would work is if you put an email client on your computer other than the AOL email. For example, MS Outlook express or Eudora. I would suggest Eudora. There is a free version of it and it is what I personally use. Of course your AOL or whatever mail will still work. The email account would basically just be for YD. Well actually you could use it as a regular email account if you wanted I suppose. If you are interested, let me know and we can try a test to see if it will work. It would be nice to get some more email confirmations for delivery. Alan

I'm interested. I will download the Eudora program this evening and
will work on getting it configured tomorrow. I will let you know
when I'm ready to try it out. Thanks a lot. Hope this works.
