Wish it didn’t come to this. I probably confirm to those who wish to come back to YD the backbiting and nitpicking isn’t gone as some said in earlier posts. Why bother coming back- I’m wondering if I even belong.
I have to keep a list of people to avoid Jim H. Del And KCS even Chris somewhat jokingly wanted to be put on that list cause they’re prototypical, don’t like passenger trains and request me not to send trains that have this or that. Thought this was the purpose of having all the ini and the early goal of the GAME. Passing trains back and forth that is. How can you when one says “don’t do that anymore”
THOUGHT THIS IS A FREAKIN GAME!!!!!!!
Hypocrisy- is that where one says 1 thing and does another? I think I heard (read) many of you say enjoy yourself then you say don’t send me or don’t do this. How can 1 enjoy himself knowing his every move is securitized?
Since I’m NOT a RR employee I don’t know much about operation but I’m learning. Thank you to all who help me learning this - Paul, Del and if I miss you sorry. I just can’t pack-up and leave I helped the server last forever probably- $50 worth anyhow. So like or not I’m here to send out trains and enjoy myself. So it isn’t going to ruin your map if a passenger train comes blowing through (you mainline 1 anyhow probably) or a DD40x blasting power at 6.5 (at least I’m moving while your AC600 just sits and spins) If I did leave BET YOU USED MY ENGINES but they weren’t good enough while I was there.
THOUGHT THIS IS A FREAKIN GAME!!!!!!! Isn’t it?
If you want to go back to the old way and immediately delete my train (which I think has happen) I can’t stop you but I can return the favor and delete yours. It doesn’t say in the bible to treat others as you would yourself BUT it does imply that. You think I like seeing that yucky UP color in J yard better yet me as an UCLA/Wolverine fan seeing SP gray/red? I accept it and use it. I don’t say to Steve don’t send me that or to Bill don’t send any UP power. Have I been hypocritical?
THOUGHT THIS IS A FREAKIN GAME!!!!!!!
I remember when I first started I was so busy at first I couldn’t keep up just due to me not being able to operate the GAME. NOW I have 20 yard just to keep me busy AND I have to beg for loads. I don’t know if you all are using icr to set delivery and pickups but I don’t see many of you all doing that AND YOU’RE SO BUSY with the 5-10 yards you have. As of right now J, Sullivan Merom has an outbound, Joppa, Chevron, Tuscola, Taylor Mill, Mission, ITCF, Taylor Engine nothing, Can you say that? I’ve even added/changed sidings to maps just so I have work and to practice mapmaking. Why I think Allen and Chris checked out Newton and Merom just see if I changed something there (They didn’t believed there was freight there to be moved boxes, tanks & flats.). Hell a damn newbie gets buried just days after coming aboard. Did I take the garbage or what? Who cares if NY does ship to CA bet they eat Ca oranges when Fl is growing them or WA eating Maine lobster. How you think it got there by truck?
THOUGHT THIS IS A FREAKIN GAME!!!!!!!
At least I was having fun and I was learning many new operation things about different RR. I’m willing to work with that after all Del I plan to ship J cars to Colton it just so happen that when I ran it I just decided to help out BNSF and ship Alcoa but you didn’t see that I was trying to be nice- I wasn’t playing right. (Doesn’t that sound like a 3yr old?) I bet if BNSF knew in real life that would happen they would do something in kind-unless they’re assholes. OR I’m running a passenger train north and Austell is between Chicago and Simpson Jim no way around that unless you run up the east coast but that one was a hot passenger train.
THOUGHT THIS IS A FREAKIN GAME!!!!!!!So in closing I hope I stepped on many egos as mine was trod. Enjoy your GAME as I suffer through mine unless you enjoy my things I’ll enjoy yours fair enough.
AFTER ALL THIS IS A SOB MF GAME!!!!!!! Sorry to be so blunt with language but it the only kind you understand-and that’s when drunk so since I don’t know when you’ll read it I’ll pray for you to see the hypocrisy.
I will say this if we go to the e-mail system bet I’m out of the loop for trains and the chat was the thing that kept me around for that’s where I learn about many things from personal lives to model RR to the operations. There that off my chest.

RE: THOUGHT THIS IS A FREAKING GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Slim,
Please remember that even though this is 'just a game' to you, it may not be 'just a game' to others. Many of us, such as myself, play Yard Duty because we want to simulate the real thing, and Yard Duty is the best thing we have to do that. Also, please don't consider yourself as being scrutinized. Regardless of whether it is a 'game' or a 'simulation', it requires a great deal of teamwork to make it work. That means working together, listening to what you could do to help your fellow yardmasters out...and just being good neighbors. Corey Vernier

Slim I am going to try and respond to this because I can understand where your coming from. But I can also see the other side. (I know I'm going to get hit by lightning for making a stand for proto running) This is not a new area of ground we are trying to cover, this bone has been chewed by this group many times. It has caused some big splits and bad feelings but at the present I think we had found a way to work together. We must all walk the middle road, grasshopper!...lol
>I have to keep a list of people to avoid Jim H. Del And KCS
>even Chris somewhat jokingly wanted to be put on that list
>cause they’re prototypical, don’t like passenger trains and
>request me not to send trains that have this or that. I don't see how Jim falls into this group but if you talk with Del or Matt they would be glad to set up scheduled trains to run. You must remember that the same respect must be on both ends...you don't like the trouble of making a train proto...they don't like these mystery trains showing up...or loaded with cars that don't belong in their yards.>Thought this was the purpose of having all the ini and the
>early goal of the GAME. Passing trains back and forth that
>is. How can you when one says “don’t do that anymore”
>THOUGHT THIS IS A FREAKIN GAME!!!!!!!
>Hypocrisy- is that where one says 1 thing and does another?
>I think I heard (read) many of you say enjoy yourself then
>you say don’t send me or don’t do this. The simulated movment of frieght thru the national yard system is what the game is about. Now there is no rule about how Proto you need to be. You can build any train and run it and un-load or load at any yard. And I will fight to maintain this ideal. But you can not expect every player to take in every train, they have the same right of enjoyment. We have all agreed before that no one should ever delete or dead-line any train....just post it back to the owner.>How can 1 enjoy himself knowing his every move is securitized? Once again I have seen this too many times so don't think your alone getting eyed. Just run the train and ignore it.
>If you want to go back to the old way and immediately delete
>my train (which I think has happen) I can’t stop you but I
>can return the favor and delete yours. This statement is bad in soo many way's. Anyone that is deleting trains is really hurting the community. It is just as easy to post it back to the member. Now before I get jumped on will say that on one occasion before my brain engaged I deleted two trains. I had sent you a coal train and due to your "cloning" problem I got three of the exact train back...I deleted the extra two just assuming they were mistakes. But if the same thing happened again I would just post them back with a note. Another thing is that trains get lost, a fact. You should know this from all the problems that you have had with your computer. So don't be to quick to say trains were deleted on purpose. Every player has trains disappear, ask Mark about how many coal trains or Anthony about his Amtraks, Del and his coke.>I remember when I first started I was so busy at first I

>to maps just so I have work and to practice mapmaking. YD has always been like this and it most likely will continue. You have nothing or you have more than you can handle. I will say that the way you choose to run trains does not help your flow. Not that guy's are doing this on purpose but here's what happens. You send out a 50 car mixed train, thinking that they are going to scatter to the wind get loaded or emptied and then return to your yard. So your waiting for 50 cars to show up. But at the destination those cars get assigned to where ever that yard normally sends that car type.>Why I think Allen and Chris checked out Newton and Merom just see
>if I changed something there (They didn’t believed there
>was freight there to be moved boxes, tanks & flats.). I don't know how they would do this unless you e-mailed them your files, but more why would they care? You lost me on this one.

I will do all I can to help you make compromises...believe me I have made many changes from what I started wanting to do! You didn't hurt my ego and unfortunately worse has been said before.

Tim
