Question about assigning destinations – image 2

QUESTION:
Jim,In the Train Infomation window, I want to take a train I created or 'cut of cars' and set it just for random in Maine only, I click on Only in US:ME, check the box, hit Multiple ramdom, and all i get is Bangor yard or NMJ yard. How can I assign it to go to Bucksport, S. Lagrage or Searsport? Thanks,
Andrew
ANSWER:
Andrew, Look at the North America map. You will see that NMJ and Bangor are colored and the others are not. This means that they NMJ and Bangor are valid destinations in Yard Duty, while the other maps are 'satellite' industrial maps of these yards. The satellites will accept delivery of any car with a destination of it's parent map. So, for example, in Bangor you would make up a cut of 'Bangor' cars of the appropriate car type (mainly tank cars) and take them to Bucksport and deliver them the 'hard way'.I want to limit the list of destinations primarily to significant yards, and not include industry maps, because over time the amount of destinations will grow quite large. For example, it would be silly for someone to (accidently or otherwise) create a tank car going to South Lagrange, because there is only a woodchip siding there. However a tank car going to NMJ makes sense, because one can always imagine that there are industries in the vicinity of NMJ that need the service of tank cars. Another way to look at it is that cars in Yard Duty are given a yard as a destinations and not a specific industry. It is at the descretion of the person working the yard as to how to deliver the car. Hope this makes sense.Jim
