I have no qualms about using pre merger RR labels, but have heard others told that this sim is suppose to be pre merger days but looking at one of JimW's creations, Cajon Pass, CA he has the exits labeled UP/BNSF. This is a contradiction that map designers are being told, to use say SP and ATSF on that map for example. Why not just have Current Railroad and in () the past major RR ownership of trackage or not at all but maybe should be post merger.
Besides the Maps Dept putting their OFFICIAL word in on this some other map designers post any comments on this whether labels could be pre/post merger or combination of both.

Del & designers,The "OFFICIAL" word is that all maps are to have exit labels assigned according to 1994 ownership. The policy was set forth in this post:
http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/DCForumID14/355.html
and reinforced here:
http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/DCForumID14/377.html
I never clearly stated this on the Office website, for which I apologize. It'll be added to the list of improvements/revisions that need to be taken care of.The only contradiction here is that Jim likely posted the revised Cajon before setting policy, and never went back to revise the map. If you look at any map numbered higher than 1060, ownership should be labeled according to policy. (Pre-1060 maps are colloquially considered to be from the more-or-less "beta" stage of map development and generally should be ignored when seeking to make comparisons.)-Dave
