YDers,I am pleased to announce that Matt Freix (MAF70) has acheived the status of Yard Duty Master Mapmaker. His recent submission of Knoche Yard (to be posted soon) is an almost flawless masterpiece, and clearly demonstration that Matt has a solid grasp of all facets of map design.Keep up the great work, Matt!In addition, Matt has joined the Office of Maps staff, picking up the duties Paul Metzger had so successfully taken care of during his tenure as a staff member. Also, Matt will be helping out Corey with initial review of submitted maps. Welcome to the staff!Travel news: I'll be in Albany for the first two weeks of August and likely won't have much time for YD. The last half of the month I'll be lost in the western wilderness and won't be doing anything with YD.Lastly, there will soon be some changes to the Office of Maps website; I'll post when these are complete.-Dave ...striving for "Continuous Quality Improvement" http://www.davehonan.com/ http://members.trainorders.com/dwhonan/yd/
Please email your proposals to me at Matt@70mile.com from now on. There will be a maximum of 6 projects per person allowed so don't go crazy and flood me...lol.Also, with Dave's absence during August no new images will be made until earlier Sept, so consider August as time to get caught up on any current projects. Dave and I are working to get as many projects reviewed and submitted before he leaves. Dragon will be posting these maps through August, then when Dave gets back we'll be back in full operation. Thanks,Matt
Congrats Matt on your Master Mapmaker status and to the Map Office which agreed Paul did a great job and will be missed. Maps Office is doing a great job right now getting things moving again. Good Job all!Now for a slight concern-Okay what about all the proposals that were submitted to Paul that aren't listed in any form. Is Paul forwarding these to Matt or do we have to dig and find emails to submitt to him. Also the 6 map limit i know is not to flood the maps office but should also then be adhered to my the office members too unless thier is a grandfather rule not known lol
Del,Paul sent all the proposals he had to me, and I forwarded them to Matt, so there shouldn't be a need to worry about that, although it's possible I may have missed a few in the retransmission. I'll look through my files and check. All of the +6 maps that are still listed for members of the Maps staff are those that were grandfathered under the original limit rules; I haven't had time to finish many of my own maps since then. Honestly, that limit pains me as there are lots of things I *want* to do based on recent travels... but like everyone else, I have to either abandon or wait, and I'm at the point where I don't want to abandon anything else I have... *sigh* -Dave ...striving for "Continuous Quality Improvement" http://www.davehonan.com/ http://members.trainorders.com/dwhonan/yd/
Matt, Congratulations Matt! I knew when I first laid eyes on Knoche that you were gonna get the Master Mapmaker title . Only a couple more weeks before I go back to school and I can get the YD thing cranking again. I'm looking forward to working with you in the map review process!Corey
