Last Monday, 6/7/2004, I had the good fortune to see the Ringling Brothers & Barnum and Bailey circus train coming west out of Morrisville, PA. So I thought it might be fun to pass the circus train around in Yard Duty. I've created a 55-car semi-prototypical train which I've sent to Roanoke, VA as its first destination. It has mostly passenger cars, some flat cars and a few stock cars (what better excuse to run stock cars? ). Feel free to swap power appropriately and use appropriate symbols. Here are the instructions that I've included on the train in case they get lost along the way:At destination, unload at local exit. After about a week, load at local exit.
Reassign all cars to a specific destination (you pick the next stop) and send on its way!Have fun!- Andrew

I caught the RBB&B Red Train at Selkirk a couple summers ago... CSX sure didn't think the move was worthy of their best motive power!-Dave

RE: Circus Train!

I have to say that this is probaably one of the coolest things I have seen happen on Yard Duty in the longest time. Kudos to Andrew for such an awesome idea - I hope to see the Circus Train on some of my maps at some point.Maybe we can think of some other 'specialty' trains that we can run?:Lawrence

Jim started an OCS running at one point a while back, no idea what happened to that...Ya know, to increase the fun we should have TWO editions of the circus train circulating -- simulating the RBB&B Red & Blue trains.-Dave

RE: Circus Train!

What made last Monday even more special, was that ½ hour before the RB&BB circus train, I saw the James E. Strates carnival train heading north on the CSX Trenton Line at Woodbourne. I didn't look too thoroughly for a web site for the carnival, but if we can find a roster of the cars, we could start a carnival train too.
