Jim , Yard Duty has become very Popular with a lot of railroad people. There is a lot of good points to Yard Duty, like being able to run one train from Yard to Yard and Switch out cars and running locals.
There are a lot of good map makers that take a lot of time to put maps to become apart of Yard Duty network. You came up with the idea of putting a ad in Model railroad. It seem to bring in new members, which is great . But we have also lost member too. Maybe we could have keep those members, if things were right. Some of the member and members to be , are saying that you don't respond to there e-mails, Maybe so or not . I know you have not responded to my e-mails , so are they right ????? Since We are all paying members , you should respond to a e-mail within 12-24 hours, it is our right as paying members to get a fast response. As Far as the Server , you should post a message if the server will be down for repairs or maintenance. If the server is down , Please post a message to the yard Duty group , what is the problem and when do you think it will be fix for Members. As far as Yard Masters , we should try to keep every yard master that we have . Also we should bring in new member to fill the holes. There are Yard that need help and there are more yards then members now. With new Yards coming out this year and more to come next year , we need members to fill those Vacancies. As for the Map making , We have some pretty good members that do good work . But we want to train new member to do maps too .
I personally, Plan on doing 30-50 maps by the end of this year and into 2004 and 2005, these maps are of the Bay area of California.
These maps will add life to Yard duty . Jim, you created Yard Duty. If you really want to see new members join Yard duty , then you got take the steps that , make Yard Duty Grow Healthy. Yard Duty is like a Tree , you need to Prun it to produce Fruit ( new Members ) .Steven Presnal-MP 777
