I just thought I'd post a message about a new feauture I am working on. I'm calling it 'Auto-populate'. Basically. this command will allow you to automatically populate a map with loaded freight cars with a random destination assigned to them. It will fill the unloader(green) and loader (purple) lines with cars. Then it will be your job to collect the new cars from the map and take them to a yard for classification. This cammand will be most useful on industrial maps, since, by their nature, they have many loader and unloader lines. As I see it, this is the last significant game feature yet to be implemented.Jim
I was thinking to completely fill the loader and unloader lines, but maybe it would be better just to put cars on half of the line or something. So say the unloading line is 200 feet long, I would fill 100 feet. Is that better? I am about to code this so any ideas on this will be helpful.
What about a slider that allows you to fill a certain percentage of tracks(5,25,100 etc) with a certain percentage of space on each track(25, 50, 100)?That work?Chris Lee Train Artisan
Well, the idea is to populate a map quickly without having to think about anything. I could make it random so if a track can hold 10 cars I'll pick a random number from 1 to 10.
