It seems like we have been over this before, but is there a way to prevent someone from downloading trains not intended for them. I just watched a newbie dl a train for Alphamaster. I tried to get him to upload it back but he did not respond.
Jim,You told me that you were going to add Player/Member status to profiles. Can you do the same for downloading, so that only Members are able to grab trains not assigned for 'Anyone' or the Player's username? I realize that's asking for some complicated programming, but it seems like the best option so that newbies can still experience downloading trains and not affect Member ops.-Dave Conrail Albany Division ...striving for "Continuous Quality Improvement" http://gcdranet.homelinux.com/davehonan/Yard Duty Superintendent of Maps http://members.trainorders.com/dwhonan/yd/
Dave, I can see you are no longer an advocate for newbie rights. Any way, I think a better idea would be to make a 'newbie' file section and an 'advanced' file section. Maybe I'll even put a one-time password on the advanced section, like SUPERMAN or something...Jim

Just because a newbie has completed the tutorial shouldn't be grounds to allow him to be called an advanced player. Perhaps the password could be included in their unlock code email once they become a member. Until then, the advanced players would post trains for newbies in the newbie file section.-Dave Conrail Albany Division ...striving for "Continuous Quality Improvement" http://gcdranet.homelinux.com/davehonan/Yard Duty Superintendent of Maps http://members.trainorders.com/dwhonan/yd/
