Yard Duty - 1.2.37 Released – image 1

Features:
1) When uncoupling, trains are not allowed to overlap anymore. You are required to 'seperate' the two new trains, during which time you will only have partial control of the train, meaning you are prohibited from moving in the wrong direction or possibly using the reverse key. After they are seperated, you are given back full control.
2) The Yard Duty system now keeps track of what car types a map LOADS. On the 'Trains' window, type 'L' to query the selected map for what cars it loads, and type 'U' to query what it unloads. Note that the 'Query' button has been replaced with the 'U' keystroke.
3) You can select a map on the 'North America' window by using the option button between the 'Enter' and 'Colors' button. This may come in handy... or not...Improvements:
4) You must remain on chat for 30 seconds before disconnecting.
5) The default chat color for new users is now green, to go along with their default name of GreenThumbXX. Please avoid using green so that we all know who the newbies playing for the first time are.
6) Made the color of grade crossings slightly darker.Fixes:
7) Chat server connection improvements.
8) Made GreenThumb number more random. Not always 69Enjoy,
Jim

I forsee the function of this feature as allowing users to select the map via the NA map, then pop over to the Trains window and be able to use the U & L keys to see what the map supplies and demands (hey, who's an RRT player!). (However, use of the Select button should not bring the Trains window into focus -- what if the user clicks on the wrong map, or is just wandering around? Too annoying.) Additionally, I would like to see buttons replicating the U & L key functions return to the Trains window, because not everyone is as keyboard-dependant as you & I. Also, with 121 maps now in the system, I'd suggest considering re-implementation of the by-state map selection pane (which will make the original point of this paragraph even more valuable).re: 6) As a civil engineer-in-training, I applaud your realization that not every flavor of concrete or asphalt comes in virgin grey or gunpowder. Now, when are we going to see brown grade crossings to simulate rural el-cheapo ties-bolted-to-the-ties GX construction? Oh yeah, another bug that needs fixing: The Gumby Bug (also known as, "Look ma, I can stretch!"). It seems to primarily occur when a train is moving in one direction and couples to a cut of cars that had been moving in the other direction at some point in the past. I'm not sure if this is like a magnet (match or mismatch of forward/reverse polarization) or just simply random happenstance, but it sure is annoying. I encountered the bug again tonight at Selkirk, and ended up with an open hopper about a third as long as North Departure.By the way, I've been picking off "action" screenshots here and there along the way. Since I obstinately refuse to join "dot net," I am unable to upload the images to yd.com; should I email them to you for inclusion? I realize there's already a "Pictures" section on the YD site, but perhaps a page dedicated solely to screenshots could be created? Basically, reduce what you have at the top of the YD page to one or two shots, and post a link below reading, "Additional Yard Duty Screenshots...," along with a link in the menu.-Dave
