Features:1) Intermodal Crane unloading: Intermodal cars (Well car, spine, and IM flat car) must be unloaded using the new Intermodal crane feature. Here's how it all works:a) First, you will need to download the file 'OneCrane.trn' from:http://groups.msn.com/YardDuty/miscfiles.msnw?fc_p=%2FMisc%20Files%2FMainline%20Trains&fc_a=0...and put it in your Mainline trains folder. You should also get 'OneCar.trn' file if you haven't already.b) Enter your favourite intermodal yard map.c) Click on any exit and then press the 'Crane' button from the exit dialog window. An intermodal crane will appear at that exit.d) 'Ride' the Crane to an intermodal unloading track, just as you would an engine. Max speed is 10 mph for cranes.e) Position a loaded intermodal car on the intermodal unloading track. Not that it will not unload using the traditional 'Hard way'. Maybe crane unloading should be called the 'Hardest way'. f) Select the Crane and position the crane near the center of the loaded intermodal car.Note: THE CRANE MUST BE THE SELECTED ITEM IN THE MAP OR IT WILL NOT UNLOAD ANYTHING!!! ALSO, IT MUST BE COMPLETLY STOPPED IN ORDER TO UNLOAD ANYTHING!!! That's it! The car will become unloaded if it's local to the current map. Enjoy! I'm pretty proud of this addition. Let me know how you like it. 2) Home Yard identification: When you enter a map, the people who work that yard are listed. If you want to be listed for certain yards, please contact Paul Metzger. Improvements: 3) Vehicles stop when you highlight them (you don't have to click them!). This is the best way to stop a vehicle from ramming into you train. Press 'Q' key to resume all stopped cars. Click on a stopped car and hold the left mouse button down to get a particluar car moving. Fixes: NoneEnjoy! KingJPW
Jim,Clicking on the "Misc Files" link on the YD site takes me to a login page for ".NET." Could you please make required files available through a source that does NOT require a membership? I have absolutely no interest in signing up for a ".NET" account just so that I'd be able to access that file, since I have no other use for the service at this time.Alternately, might I suggest including new required files in the first two releases of the revised yarddutyexe.zip file so that users will only have to download one file.-Dave Conrail Albany Division ...striving for "Continuous Quality Improvement" http://gcdranet.homelinux.com/davehonan/Yard Duty Superintendent of Maps http://members.trainorders.com/dwhonan/yd/projects.html
...and no, as my email to you on June 8th should have attested, I am not on vacation. There are no new maps for the simple reason that no completed .yrd files have been submitted!-Dave Conrail Albany Division ...striving for "Continuous Quality Improvement" http://gcdranet.homelinux.com/davehonan/Yard Duty Superintendent of Maps http://members.trainorders.com/dwhonan/yd/projects.html
Jim,Can you modify the crane so that the "operate loose cuts of cars" option does not have to be enabled? Also, can you make it easier to select the crane while it's on top of a cut of cars?-Dave Conrail Albany Division ...striving for "Continuous Quality Improvement" http://gcdranet.homelinux.com/davehonan/Yard Duty Superintendent of Maps http://members.trainorders.com/dwhonan/yd/projects.html
