Guys, tell me what you think of this. As you may or may not know, when a mainline train crashes into another train/cars, it currently destroys both trains. This was meant to simulate the destruction of all freight in the train. However, I was just working on a beautiful train with cars from many different members. As you can guess, that train is now history and the cars will never get to their destination. I am kind of mad that it is gone. Maybe destroying the train is not such a great idea. I don't know. I can see it both ways. Let me know what your thoughts are on this feature.Jim
I'd suggest keeping the "working" trains since they're obviously the primary function of the game. Maybe have the affected car(s) get "damaged" and require a trip to a car shop for repair? Deleting the mainline train (along with the financial penalty) shouldn't be a problem because those cars will never be delivered.-Dave Conrail Albany Division ...striving for "Continuous Quality Improvement" http://gcdranet.homelinux.com/davehonan/Yard Duty Superintendent of Maps http://members.trainorders.com/dwhonan/yd/projects.html
I agree with David Having spent time making up working train to loose due to mistake or not being fast enough to correct switch and having to say sorry to othersjohn
Very true. My crashes are because I don't double check switches.I like Dave's idea. Have the working train become damaged and in need or repair. That would penalize you (time spent sending them to repair tracks) without destroying the train. On the idea of repairs, do engines ever get "marked" for repairs & cleaning? I haven't noticed any yet.

I hear engines get "hit" on the inspection tracks when entering the Fuel Pad at Selkirk, but when I flip over to filter 1, there are never any overlays show to indicate need of repair or wash.-Dave Conrail Albany Division ...striving for "Continuous Quality Improvement" http://gcdranet.homelinux.com/davehonan/Yard Duty Superintendent of Maps http://members.trainorders.com/dwhonan/yd/projects.html
