Announcement: Two new teams – image 1

YDers-In the interest of increasing the realism in the game, two new groups have been created: Canadian Pacific and Conrail.CP will handle maps in the Albany-Bingo-Taylor corridor, which never really fit into any existing team structure. Interchange will be with Conrail and Guilford at Allentown, Port of Albany, and future Mohawk Yard.Conrail was created out of an inherent conflict in time: The TerraServer images were taken in the mid-late 1990s, while we are playing according to "today's" operations. This led to a number of issues with maps and routes, especially in planning the Cleveland-Buffalo/Pittsburgh corridor. With only three players (Paul, Chris, and myself) playing on the maps that would be affected by the changes, we all agreed that a new team would eliminate all of these conflicts.Conrail members will handle the existing North Jersey-Allentown-Berea, Selkirk-Berea, and Croxton-Bingo-Berea corridors. Future maps in Indiana and Illinois will expand the team's reach into that area, primarily the Indianapolis, St. Louis, and Chicago terminal areas. More maps on ex-NYC territory in the northeast are also being planned. We apologize for the apparent conflict this creates with the time-space continuum, but it was felt that this change would be in the best interests of the game. "Native" CSX & NS routes and maps remain unchanged, although NS Calumet Yard in Chicago will be the temporary home for Conrail.-Dave

RE: Announcement: Two new teams

I will be switching to the new CP team, handling Pittston, Taylor & Bingo. I will also be an adjunct CR & NS member due to working Calumet Yard. If someone else is interested in taking over Calumet, send me a private email.
