It seems that my yard engines, over time, elongate from coupling onto cars. It only affects the one that actually couples, not the second one of the pair (I usually run my yard switchers in 2 unit sets). Why is that? Can something be done about it? Does anyone else have this problem, or is it a quirk on my system?Paul
Finally got my membership back in working order...Yes, I experience growing engines commonly (I have an old screenshot of an engine at Barstow that's the length of 3 or 4 road engines). My solution is to periodically run the engines off the map to local delivery; when they return, they're of the proper length. Alternately, "Bye" the engine w/ "Don't remember position," and run 'em back on.-Dave Team CSX MP 2.6, PRR Lost Creek Branch
Dave,Yes, I know those are two ways of restoring the engines to proper size, both of which I have used. My point is that I don't think it should happen in the first place, so therefore it must be a program bug. I was hoping that Jim might be able to correct it.Paul
Yes this is a quirk/bug. Understand that each axle is animated independently. Over long periods of time there is a possibility that some 'rounding' occurs, thus elongating a car or engine. You notice it on your switchers because they don't travel between maps very often, at which point the length is reset. Just live with it for now... Jim
