Features: 1) Random Sidings: Loaded cars are assigned a random siding number upon entering a map (assuming it is the car's destination map.) Configure the probability of assignment using the options screen, based on your desire to unload the hard way. Also, there is a new menu command 'Map\Loaded map\Assign Random Sidings' which will COMPLETELY assign random sidings to the selected train only. This command is really only useful when you set the probability to something less than 100%.2) Unassigned empties: When a car is unloaded, it's destination is assigned to a special 'hidden' map called 'Unassigned'(Map ID 1000). An unassigned empty car always appears black AND CANNOT BE LOADED (the hard way) ON ANY MAP. However, it can still be loaded the easy way if no new destination is assigned (i.e. only empties of Map ID 1000 can be loaded the easy way)In order for an empty to be loaded the hard way, YOU must assign it a destination (and possibly a siding number). When it is properly assigned, it no longer appears black, but instead carries the color of the destination maps state/yard color. Also, it can only be loaded at the proper map and siding, just like a loaded car.3) Tri-state siding lines: There are now now 3 possible colors for a siding: a) Unloads cars only - Green b) Loads cars only - Purple c) Loads and unloads cars - Orange4) You can now create a train with only the appropriate cars for a certain map. Use the middle option on the new 'Create Train' window. Improvements: 5) Made loose cars roll further for those of you who enjoy humping.6) Made colliding cars less likely to keep rolling.7) Re-organized the 'Create Train' window.Enjoy! Jim
To try all the new features:a) Re-download the IN:Cayuga map b) Create a train for the map using #4 above and ride the train in. c) You will see random sidings assigned to the train. d) Sort and unload the cars the see how they turn black after being unloaded e) You can now take the black empties to a classification yard and sort them by car type. When someone requests empties at a certain map, assign the empties with a destination and send them out on a train to their new destination... That's the basic idea.Jim
A slight flaw Jim. On yards such as Port of Albany with Intermodal tracks, cars cannot now be unloaded & loaded in the same yard. I cannot imagine real railways have to take the cars somewhere else to bring them back again for loading. Or am I missing something here?
The Port both loads and unloads IM cars. I'll change the track designations slightly and send a revised version to Jim.-Dave MP 2.6, PRR Lost Creek Branch http://www.davehonan.gcdranet.com/
Yes, you are missing something. Re-read #2 above. After unloading a car at Albany, you must assign it's destination to Albany in order to immediatly re-load it at Albany. You cannot load a black empty car anywhere. It must be assigned a destination first.Jim
