Paul,Thanks for playing Yard Duty. And thanks for letting me know the names of all those yards in Chicago. How did yuo know the names? Do you have a map or something or are you just very familiar with the area? Have you found any good industries in Pittsburgh, PA yet? There must be tons of interesting maps to do there.I've noticed you posted a few trains on the server. That's nice. Why not include your email in some so that you will receive notification upon delivery?Jim

From the 'Train Info' window, you highlight some cars and press 'Yes' next to 'Email me when car arrives at destination'. Of course, you need to enter your email address in the 'Options' window.

Jim,-I have a map of the BRC that I copied out of the September 1966 issue of Trains magazine. I compared the Terraserver image with both my BRC map and a DeLorme computer atlas that I have.-I plan on working on some yards and industries in the Pittsburgh area when I get a chance, which might not be until Dec.
I have a bunch of Conrail maps that I downloaded from the internet, so I will eventually be able to do some other areas out east here as well.-I haven't included my email because I haven't got it set up right yet, and didn't want to mess things up.

Paul,
In response to your email...Question: ...when I went to work on my first train, it gave me the
following error messages:ERROR: 5B
DESCRIPTION: Object variable or With block variable not set
IN: subAnimateERROR: D
DESCRIPTION: Type mismatch
IN: subLoadTrainFromFile
Answer: This is an indication that the file didn't download properly. You should highlite this train and delete it.Question:
Consequently, I can not get back into Bakersfield Receiving or Bakersfield Yard.Answer: Downloading files cannot affect your ability to enter a yard. You should still be able to enter these yards by other means, but not by 'riding in' the corrupt/incomplete downloaded train.Jim

Jim,I deleted the train, but I still couldn't get into the yards. There were still some cars in the yard from a bad download, I guess. I went into the Yard Info files and deleted the train information, and everything is working again.Paul

Ok. If I'm not mistaken, it sounds like you went into the ...Yard Duty\Server1\Yards folder and deleted the .crs file for the offending yard. (The .crs file is the one that stores the position of all cars in a yard as well as the aspect of the switchtes). If something becomes corrupt with this file, one may experience difficulties entering a yard, as you were. Good thinking!Jim

Yes, I went into that folder, but I just deleted the lines that specified the position of all cars and trains. I left the beginning of the file which specified switch positions alone.Paul Metzger

Paul, I think I figured out what is causing this bug. Basically it was happening because your train instructions contain a carriage return. In this version don't use a carriage return in the instructions. In the next version I will remove carriage returns from the instructions to prevent this problem. Thanks,
Jim

Hi Alphamaster,Which yard were you working on again? I forgot. Also, if you decide to work on it again, you may notice some new bugs related to connecting track. They will be fixed in the next version...Jim
