Thanks for taking a look at the newest forum on train-sim.com web site. Nels Anderson was gracious enough to host a forum for my latest railroad-related software, aptly entitled 'Yard Duty'. Yard Duty is a 2D overhead-view railroad game which uses actual satelite images as a backdrop for freight yards. It was created especially for all you railroad nuts who dream of switching long trains in real yards.I hope you enjoy the game!

RE: Welcome!

This is an excellent game to relieve the stress of the MSTS Route Editor. Easy to use, with excellent instructions anyone can read, this game should be on the "Most Wanted" download list of trainsimmers and railfans! I'm currently building some yards from my area here in Kansas and hopefully will have them uploaded for all to enjoy. Will look forward to updates on this game and wish you good luck in developing the game!Austin S.

Wow, thanks Austin. It's really nice to get fan mail before hate mail! The funny thing is that route building in MSTS really SHOULD be this easy. It's just crazy the way the did it, but that's another story. I'll look forward to enjoying your yards and posting them on the server.KingJPW

RE: Welcome!

I must be a dumbass. I can create a train. I can put it in a yard. Sometimes I can even get the train to move. Sometimes I can even get the train to go from one yard to another yard. But most of the time the train just sits there no matter what I do with the throttle and brakes. I realize that this is a beta version of the program, but I feel like I need more than the instructions that are available on the website. It might be asking for too much at this stage of development, but I sure hope that a tutorial of some sort becomes available soon. I'll tell you one thing for absolutely sure, I won't spend any money for this program util I'm able to figure out (probably with lots of help) how to "operate" it.Just my thoughts on Yard Duty.Chuck

This is most likely happening because the pause button is activated. It is being set whenever you switch maps. I found this very annoying and fixed this problem in the next version, which I will post tommorrow.KingJPW
