RE: Public & Private teams.

Hey, Great to have you on the NS team Danny! If you want to send a private message to Paul (pwm33) or to me we can catch you up on how we are trying to handle NS right now. With some new yards about to come onlinedown here hopefully, we could use a new member. We are both pretty easy-going and try to keep each other busy with trains. We set up a prototype train database on the Yahoo group, Yahoo Yard Duty Group, and are trying to use that as a guide to send trains to each other when possible. I seem to be in some sort of manic yard-making state (must make yards, must make yards) so let me know if there is a yard you would like to see added on the NS side of things.
I am trying to get Kansas City under the 64mb limit now and when it comes online, that will open a whole new midwest gateway. So lots about to happen with us. Welcome again, Alan

Alan,It's funny, but I was thinking about joining NS myself. I'm from L.A. and I think it will help me develop more of an appreciation for the east coast. Plus I can spend more quality time in your maps!!! I'm up to my ears in BNSF and UP out here. You should see me foam when a CSX or NS comes through town. Would I be welcome on team NS? Jim

Hey, the more the merrier. I was going to suggest that until we get more players into the game and on teams, that maybe we should be allowed to join or at least help another team. Just for now until enough players are involved. Seems like the west coast is manned very thin and have their hands full. I wouldn't mind helping out there when needed. Paul and I are begging for trains over here a lot of the time. When you have time to get a few more maps up, it would be great to have a second North/South route from Florida to Maine that is closer to the coast. Perhaps this could be team CSX following the old Seaboard System routes? I'm looking for a nice two or three spots for maps to submit for that route perhaps ending with a Washington/Baltimore area yard. I've already submitted Perryville which will be a nice North end junction for that route. >Plus I can spend more quality time in your maps!!! Thanks. Maybe someone should work on completing some of the California maps that are lacking all their track or post some new ones? Did Chris finish completing Barstow? That would be good start. There is a need for some good, complete yards out there. So many cars get destined for California when you 'whiff up' a train. Just like you, I wouldn't mind educating myself about an area I am not familiar with by working in that area. >You should see me foam when a CSX or NS comes through town. The same way I feel when I see anything other than NS or CSX here.

RE: Public & Private teams.

Very Funny, I was thinking about switching to the NS team as well. I did in fact finish Barstow, however it was over the 64K limit so there is a lot left to be desired. The hump tracks are not as large as I'd like them to be, certainly not as long as your NS yards If I make Allentown yard(my home one), you might have to watch out!Chris Lee

RE: Public & Private teams.

Cool. Any chance of the 64k limit problem being solved soon? I have tried to cut down Kansas City, which is otherwise ready, but am also having to leave a lot out - like the engine terminal. If you think that the 64k thing might be resolved soon, I won't waiste any time removing track. If not, I will go ahead and cut out some yard trackage to make room for the engine terminal so that this yard can be added. Alan

I would say go ahead and submit the map under 64k, because it might be a couple weeks to a month before I improve it. I just need to get motivated to do it, which I am lacking at the moment... humm...Jim
