Jim, When the game assigns random destinations to new cars, does it count satellite maps of yards in the random determination or just the main yard? In other words, if you have a main yard with two satellites, does this yard have 1 chance at getting the destination or 3? I know that when you manually assign a satellite that it will only show the main yard. I was just curious how the random destination generator handled that. Thanks, AlanPS. Hope your email problem gets solved. That must be a bummer.
"...does this yard have 1 chance at getting the destination or 3?"Wow, that's an interesting 'probability' question that I never considered. In fact, I had to study the code to answer it properly. The answer is '1' and not '3'. Basically mainline maps and sattelite maps are excluded.Jim
Thanks. Have you considered perhaps allowing different probablilities for each map. I am assuming that they all have the same probability now. That way a really large map with lots of industry would have more 'chances' than a small map with a single industry. And main yard maps with a large number of satellites will get more cars to send to them. Just a thought. Alan
