Jim, every so often when coming off of a switch the front end of the engine takes off on one track and the rear end goes off on another, and the engine just keeps getting longer as the tracks diverge. Whats happening here? Bo
You have one end of the engine going one away, and the other end going another way. I've done this quite a few times on my HO layout,You must have thrown a switch while the locomotive was going over it. Bring the engine back, it will stop because a switch is against it, then throw the switch and bring the two ends back together. Everything should be good from there.I've done it a few times myself Chris Lee Train Artisan
Actually, one of my switchers IS on Viagara... all three engines were created at the same time and are yard power. See below; note the road power on the right.-Dave QG 14.32, CSXT Selkirk Sub http://www.davehonan.gcdranet.com/
Yes, you may have accidentaly thrown a switch (instead of selecting the car) as the car was going through it. This is not good, even on the prototype. If this happens you need to reverse the direction of the train and back up until things look right. This is tricky to do because you may need to flip the switch when cars are above it, but it can be done. If the axles get stuck, try reversing several times and clicking on the switch until the car gets passsed the switchNote, to prevent this from happenening pay attention to the click sounds. They are different when you click on a switch verses clicking on a car.Jim
