I am confused by the up-load to the Library today of NJ Transit MU commuter cars. The file id talks about Reading suburban commuter cars, but the ace files seem to show modern NJ Transit equipment. Who is the author and what is correct?
The original model and detailed artwork were done by Frederick Dreany and myself as DLW EMUs, the Reading repaint was done by Bill Scott, with our permission. The documentation suggests the models are NJT, but all the illustrations are minor changes to Bill Scott's repaints.I have no way of knowing if any of the model's operating characteristics have changed and do not plan to download it.Other than that, I am as confused as you are and will attempt to locate the author Christopher Petraglia, who did not request permission from Frederick or myself, and I suspect also not from Bill Scott, nor does he provide an e-mail address for himself. However, he was thoughtful enough to provide Bill Scott's and our original documentation.Aloha, Jeff Link Island Electric - West
Well, Jeff, it is a mystery. The file_id which Nels published is not in the file materials, so don't know where that came from either. From what I can tell by looking at the ace files, the whole outer skin is not DLW nor Reading. I have not installed it. Paul.
Paul--I sent an e-mail to Nels to ask for the file to be removed from the download library until such time as the author makes his case for our permission to release, as well as Bill Scott's.Aloha, Jeff Link Island Electric - West
Paul--You got me curious so I just downloaded the model to look at the files. Very obvious why no screenshot of the repaint was done! Those are NJT stainless steel skins pieced over original Island Electric/Bill Scott repaint ace texture files. The Shape Viewer version is below (Thank GOD for Shape Viewer).
