Altho not strictly a traction product, I am uploading to the Library tonight - a Pennslyvania RR Watch Box, WchBxPRR.zip. This was used by many railroads to protect their watchmen from the weather. Similar structures were used by bridge tenders and switch tenders.
This one is made from PRR standard plans, and comes complete with Summer and Winter textures, as well as see through windows, my first attempt at alpha channels. If you line up properly, you can not only see the stove inside, but you can see right through the structure and out the opposite window.
A Port City Car Co product.

RE: PRR Watchman's Shanty

This looks good.
Just what is needed to get the poor watchman out of the rain and into the warm shed. Stove you say, well, what comfort.
Good job. I'll get one or more. Got to keep the men warm, as long as they stay awake.

RE: PRR Watchman's Shanty

Great photo.
As I look at the front door, the snow at the bottom does not carry around to the side, so I must have goofed something up. Will look when I get home.

What snow ? I don't have any snow. Rain, yes, but no snow.
My watchman is helping the engineer on the other side of the train.
And it is narrow gauge too. Sorry, no snow yet.
I know, I should have waited till dark. But then the train would be gone. But maybe snow ?

RE: PRR Watchman's Shanty

Well, the Shanty has a small mistake, as noted above a post or two.
This was the first alpha channel textures that I had done, and I was so immersed in doing it correctly that I goofed up the Snow texture.
If you have already downloaded the file WchBxPRR.zip, you will notice that the snow does not come up on the sides of the shanty like it does on the front and back.
After figuring out what I did wrong, and how to correct it, I have just uploaded the same file as before, but with a new file for the Snow texture portion (actually slightly revised). So, all you need to do is download TOMORROW the revised wchbxprr.zip and from it substitute the new SWatchBoxPRR.ace for the original, and now you will have snow on the bottom 3 or 4 inches of the sides, just like the front and back. Or, if it dosn't bother you, do nothing. The latest will automatically correct all new downloads.
Sorry for the goof.
Here is a photo to show the slight difference:
Paul.

RE: PRR Watchman's Shanty

Another great photo, Chuck.
If I had guessed this would turn out so well, I would have spent a few more polys and inset the door and windows, instead of just painting them on.
