Trainz Traction - Winter on the North Shore Line – image 1

Hey all. I'm a Trainz user/creator, but wanted to share some pics with you in the spirit of the season..---------------Ahh. It's December on the North Shore Line.December 24, 1958 to be exact. Christmas Eve...Trainz Traction - Winter on the North Shore Line – image 2
It's late afternoon, and the snow is falling as locals gas up at Ian's. At Dempster Street Station an Electroliner is heading to Milwaukee, while a 3 car Greenliner is making it's way towards downtown Chicago.

A bit later we see a Greenliner set making it's way North.

The weather outside is definitely frightful, but inside of architect Arthur Gerber's magnificent Prairie/Bungalow style station things look warm and inviting indeed!

The Eastern Limited is pulling away. If you look closely you can just make out the illuminated drum head.

Looking West now we see only a few cars left in the lot as midnight approaches....

That's really fine work. Is it yours? Is there a website where i could see more of this?My father rode the North Shore out of Waukegan when he was in high school. I just missed out on seeing it in action myself. Thanks kindly for a real treat. -Phil

Nice pics! I have been following traction developments at Trainz and know there is some great modelling going on. I think there is even some L&PS rolling stock under development Thanks for sharing these shots. Wayne

Spectacular
While I was only a few months old when CNS&M passed from this world, from the pictures I've seen you've captured the essence of the North Shore LineGary S

Hey guys, thanks for the great comments. Here are some answers to questions/comments.The rolling stock, layout, and Dempster Street Station were created by me. All other bits were created by others.I do have a website, but it's devoted to Trainz payware stuff - diesel at that! But I hope to devote a section to my traction stuff very soon.I'm devoting pretty much all of my time to traction stuff now. Thanks again for letting me post these shots here. If you want to see more of my shots they will be in the Trainz area. I just put up some new elevated stuff in the North Shore Winter thread there. I'm not trying to promote Trainz with that comment, but I realize that this is - technically - an MSTS traction area and I don't want to add clutter!Scott

Do post your URL when you release the traction stuff, Scott. I don't see anything restricting this forum to MSTS only. Speaking strictly for me, I can learn from anybody's experience, and your work is outstanding. While I have at least a year's worth of MSTS stuff in the pipeline (and I haven't even started with the streetcars on my list yet), I will admit having passed by TRS 2K4 at the store this morning, and having been tempted by the Devil . Alas, that will have to wait for a new system, which *will* have a much larger hard drive... -Phil
