Stadtbahn U79 Update 1.5

I see there is a new upgrade to the U79 tram route, anyone try it out? I downloaded it but have not installed it since all docs are in German and when I tried the Alta Vista translation to english it was very hard to understand.In the old version I have the activities are allready translated to english (due to the kindness of some user whose name I forget.) I think this new version will overwrite the old translated activities back into german again.Arthur

You have to delete Activity's 001 through 010 before you install the update 1.5
Yes, you're right these are the English translations by Dick Van Dehoven. That's the price you have to pay to use the update. Perhaps Dick can do a new set of translations for the new activity's.
New paths & additional Tracks debugging make it necessary to delete the above activity's.
Also there are many activity's on thetrain.de but of course they are in German.
The update,to me,is worth the loosing the English translations.

Remember do not overite the old activity's, but delete them first. My Computer specs are in my profile

Hi,I just downloaded the update for the Route. Thanks to Roland who attended to this update on a Dutch MSTS board.Yes, I have plans to do a quick and dirty translations for the new activities. No release schedule by now.The translated "old" activities are not gone, you can find them in this thread:

The old Activities cause problems on the 1.5 Update.
That is why they told you to delete them before using the new Update. My Computer specs are in my profile

Hi,Mike that's true, but shortly after the route was released, updated activities were published.
For the translated activities I used those updated activities.
And when I compare the file date/time it seems that in the 1.5 version, the same activities are included.So try to use the translated activities. When they give any problem, it is not a big deal to me to do the retranslation.Dick van den Hoven

Hi,And for those that like to plunge into deep water, here are the first 5 translated activities.
Not tested now, but MSTS starts and runs normal and I have tried the start of Activity 15 and it starts normal.Dick van den Hoven

When I run activity 12, Under way with the work car, I get a red light at the turn back point where I am suppose to pick up the work cars. It never clears. Is this me, or do I need to modify the activity?

Hi,I had the same problem. It is a well known problem with many Activities. In many cases the cause is the place of the reverse point. Look at the track monitor, you can see that the reverse point is very close at the red signal.
But I am only the translator, not the creator of this Activity and I have changed the textstrings only. Nothing more.Dick van den Hoven

Hi,I have made a little investigation.
The problem is the traffic.
Without traffic the Activity is running fine. But some or more traffic paths block your route.
Remember, the virtual dispatcher in MSTS is a little bit clumsy.Dick van den Hoven

Graphics 15 web-site talks of an expanded U79 route in the New Year, with extensions to Neuss, Krefeld and Dinslaken. I shall leave the update 1.5 as is, until this is available and then edit route, activities and trams.Eric in UK
