Hi all I was wondering if anyone has made any decent doodlebugs in ATSF colors. I see the Sea Views have already been done. Thanks-MattATSF GP60M #104 works on the local in Flagstaff, AZ.

I think the Sea View doodlebugs were repaints of a doodlebug model already released...possibly of the San Diego and Arizona RR. Maybe this could be repainted into ATSF colors. Do you have any pictures of any particular cars you would be interested in...if possible any color pictures (like from any preserved at an RR museum, etc.). There are a lot of Santa Fe fans here, so I'm sure sooner or later someone may take an interest in this. There is another forum specifically for repainting locomotives and cars. You might want to post your message there too. Also, try to post on the locomotive builder's forum. They may be able to help.If you want to try to repaint one of the doodlebug models yourself, it shouldn't be too hard with some patience. You can use the program "TGATools2" available in the file library to convert the texture .ace files to bitmap files that you can edit. Then you can just use Microsoft Paint (or other better image editing programs) to repaint the textures as you want.If you want to try out TGATools and try to repaint a model yourself, let me know and I'll give you a short intro on how it works if you've never used it before. It's actually pretty easy. I forget who made the program, but it is very helpful.* Okay...I just took a quick look in the file library. I found the one I was thinking of. This could probably be repainted into ATSF colors. In fact, it looks like this is the one the Sea View doodlebug was based on. The file is SDA_DB43.ZIP. I have this one actually, and it is a pretty cool model. Nice interior views and everything works great.Chris T.
