We often see marvellous screen shots of routes, cars and lineside objects. Sometimes the route or cars are not available at trainsim, so would it be too much to ask for progress, and maybe release date, for routes and cars which are in the pipeline. Are there any other sites where traction routes and cars are available for download ?Eric in UK
Hello Eric,I am glad you are enjoying the screen shots from the traction community. It was the screen photos I saw here that inspired me to get involved in building my own models. I see the posting of screen photos to be more like the ‘trackside’ photos of a model railroad magazine. They give me ideas and challenge me to improve. Traction modeling has always been a do-it-yourself, scratchbuilt sort of activity and MSTS Traction is no different. You will see lots of custom routes and scratchbuilt models. Many of the models you see in the screen shots do make it to the library eventually. Most of the traction modelers post to the library here. I don’t think there is any other library site that you are missing. You probably won’t see timetables, promises, and release dates, since these deadlines and commitments take away from the enjoyment of the hobby. I have been building the L&PS for over a year now and am only about one quarter finished ( if that ). To me, this route is more like a model railroad – something that may take me a lifetime to finish. Enjoyment comes from the research, and construction, and modeling, and sharing with others. We are looking forward to seeing some photos of your work here. Start with some simple repaints or maybe a one tile diorama. There are lots of modelers here who would be happy to help.Wayne
Eric, I second what Wayne is saying. I too have a carbarn full of models in the works. And the route i'm working on, tho not for such a long time as Wayne's fabulous L&PS ( Go take a look at it, if you haven't yet-click on his link ), is on no timetable for release. But Both he and I have many Traction and scenery items in the library for offer. There is so much to do, and so little time! We (Matt Austin, Chuck Zeiler, myself) have two Mesaba Cars in the works, just waiting for some cabview issues to be worked out, then will be uploaded. Come to think of it, Dave Mewhinney uploaded the ME 10 a couple weeks back. I have an Oregon Electric Jewett Combine that needs finished, and a Big ol' Milwaukee Road boxmotor that is going to be the death of me yet . So, keep in touch, what you see here will eventually make it into daylight Timtimmuir@wcn.net timmuir2002@yahoo.com

Although Train-Sim.com has the excellent coverage of the English-speaking world, there are a few sites, mainly German-speaking who have availibility of modern european type Trams; if these float yer boat try http://www.straba.ms-trainsimulator.de or the forum at http://www.tssf.de/index.php , and Nels, not trying to divert traffic from here, it's just that very few of the downloads on these sites appear outside the German-speaking world and the guys have done a great job producing vehicles and routes that I only discovered purely by chance, and I am lucky enough to have some languages, guess there are japanese sites that we will never know exist because of the language/alphabet issues.....RegardsReg, still alive an' kickin'
No Tim.. The Boxcabs can't kill you.... then we can't run all this other cool stuff you've got in the pipe. As for my pipe, I've had to add some more sections to it to hold all the skins I NEED(Not want, but need! LOL) to do.
