RE: Eastern Mass 4387 uploaded

George and others,I was looking forward to meeting you today/tomorrow at the Shelburne Falls Trolley Museum tables at the Big E trains show in West Springfield, Mass., but I'm going to miss the show for the first time in (I think) 12 years. Life is full of surprises, big and little. Last Tuesday I found myself in the emergency room with chest pains. Wednesday morning they cleared the blockage in an artery and put in a stent. I'm home recuperating (and enjoying the new Eastern Mass semi-convertible!!!). The prognosis is good. I'm mentioning this as a public service. There was a steady stream of people with my condition going through the same process. The less fortunate ended up with bypass surgey. My advice: If you feel chest pains and shortness of breath (this latter is not required), get yourself to the emergency room. You could very well be having a heart attack. No one will ever fault you if it turns out to be a false alarm. Calling 911 (USA) is the fastest way to get treatment. They will get to you faster than you can get to the hospital, and when they arrive they will be ready to give stabilizing treatment in the form of oxygen and blood thinners and whatever else they deem necessary.Best wishes to all,
Al

Looked you up and they told me about the hospital This is one guy that you don't have to remind about heart problems. I was on a transplant list 5 years ago (for a few weeks) but I completely recovered from a cardiomyopathy (Heart Failure) on my own. I am well monitored by my cardioligist. Good Luck

RE: Eastern Mass 4387 uploaded

I'm glad to hear of your successful treatment. Did you get a transplant or were they able to fix things in other ways? I'll certainly be watching my diet from here on in.I hope the show was good. I was looking forward to it.I downloaded the Eastern Mass car. What a beauty. Great work. This has always been one of my favorites. I especially like the look of the car. I've also ridden it up at Seashore Trolley Musuem. I noticed the advert on the rear is reversed. I also had some difficulty controlling the view position (perhaps this was my system - I had Word open at the time and may have taxed the RAM). Otherwise it's perfect. I love the cab view and the operating speeds. Just right. Thanks!Cheers,
Al

I had trouble with the external view too. trying to move around the car with the arrow keys causes jumping all over the place. This is the only trolley I have experienced this problem with. Other than that, it's a great job!!

RE: Eastern Mass 4387 uploaded

I downloaded your streetcar and it does indeed look great. I did have a couple of things I wanted to mention though. I had the same problem with trying to pan around in the outside view...it seems to just jump from one side to the other, rather than a 360-degree view. Also, I was having a little bit of trouble getting the brakes to hold. I had to set the brakes on emergency application to keep it from rolling back. Then again, the line I tried it on is pretty steep (the PEry Arrowhead line I've been working on) and maybe the particular type of car you modeled it on wasn't designed to run on lines that steep. But you might want to take a look at your .eng file. Anyway, I'm the last person to be giving that kind of advice since I really have no experience modelling from scratch or making changes to .eng files. I just wanted to mention what I noticed. Otherwise, you've made a really great car, and once you work out these little bugs that you might come across, it'll be even better. Keep it up.Chris

I appreciate your comments and have rec'd a few others. I am working on a fix for the sound, brakes, and the problem with jumping was discovered to be an improper length etc in the .eng file I changed the size to "Size ( 3.20145m 5.3015m 13.5m)" and it pans perfectly. While I was at it the roof didn't look proper so I adjusted a few things to make it smoother. The advertising signs on the rear are now properly oriented. Everything is done but just a few more days and I'll upload a fix.Enginer1008

RE: Eastern Mass 4387 uploaded

Two weeks ago, I watched this car go by on a laptop........while the real thing went by 15 feet behind me!I operate this car several times a month and can't wait to download this and operate at home. Have you any unposted updates? Guess I had better fix that sound card problem I have. Come and ride the real thing at the Seashore Trolley Museum in Kennebunk, ME. Take the Be A Motorman program and perhaps get a chance to operate the real 4387.... not instead of Trainsim but in addition to it.

I will be in Maine 7/6 to 07/12 at a house we rent fpr the week in Saco. Are you planning to be there during that time.If you have glitches let me know as I might have a revision not posted. ie, Ads reversed. I have no objection if the museum wants to add this to its web site for a free download. I have the Type 5, Type 7 and Boeing also. Engineer 1008

Change the bounding box as it is to big. Experiment and you can improve it.Engineer1008
