I noticed a thread on the main MSTS section about the desirability of being able to operate from the "rear" cab end for backing up. I've been experimenting with several downloaded trolley cars on the Mesaba Electric and discovered that the "Interurban Electric Brill Cars 10-27" do just that. (the three cars are in the file fccbrill.zip) If you press the left arrow key, you are suddenly looking out of the rear end of the car. Nicely, the designer removed the reverse lever from that cab so one can tell which end of the car one is in. It works beautifully in the "Y's" on the Mesaba Electric route to turn around and reverse direction. Of course, it is still necessary to remember that you are actually going backwards, so to throw points ahead of you requires shift-G !!

RE: Changing Cabs Ends

The Chicago el cars uploaded a while back also have a similar feature, in that you press the passenger view to look out the rear. It also has a headlight switch in that the "dim" switch turns on the front headlights, and the "bright" switch turns on the rear.
