RE: Mesaba Coaches Getting Facelift

I'm not Dave, but I'd like to suggest something neutral. How about something like
"Main Street"
or
"Downtown"
or
"Uptown"Any how about a separate ACE file for each, that can be substituted by the user?Happy New Year.

RE: Mesaba Coaches Getting Facelift

The other response with different ace files was a good one, but the three I would recommend:
Hibbing
Virginia
Gilbert

RE: Mesaba Coaches Getting Facelift

Thanks, Dave, that's what I wanted to hear. Specific route destinations for this route. My intensions are to make all the coaches, each with different destinations, with perhaps one that says "Local", for ambiguity. Once I get the masters done, then it'll be easy to make the numbers.Tim

RE: Mesaba Coaches Getting Facelift

Hi,Looks great Tim.
Seperate ace files for the destination signs will be good one. This way they can be changed with a bat file.
Then you can do the following:
- at Hibbing start with Gilbert on the sign
- Then at Gilbert save
- change the destination sign to Hibbing
- make the return run.At this site http://www.mstrainstop.com/NL_Index.htm they have a motorcar that destination signs that can be changed with a bat file.

Each of the "meends.ace" for each destination will be in it's own subfolder in the car folder. Just trade out the ace for the destination you want, puting the former ace in the folder named for it. There's even a "Local" ace. And after making the 11, 13, and 14, that's 16 aces for the front! I'll be "loco" before too long! Any other great ideas? (it really *IS* a great idea!)TimEdit: I changed the "Local" to "Limited" at the last minute. Looks better!

RE: Different Aces for Different Destinations

Guys, this stuff is beautiful. I can't wait to get my hands on them, if for nothing else to fill up the yards and shop building in Virginia (and to run them of course.) One other minor detail to quote from the book:
"Because a large percentage of the passengers were mine workers with soiled clothing, the interior finish was of dark oak with a light blue ceiling. Hale & Kilburn rattan seats with fixed backs seated a total of 50 persons." (referring to the passenger motors)

RE: Different Aces for Different Destinations

Phew! A bloke goes away from the computer for a few days and look what happens! Man, Tim, your work is superb. You've transformed my rather shoddy texture work and finally made the cars look good!I'll take the H&K seat reference into account and redo the .s file accordingly. With the new cab and sounds, and Tim's fantastic textures, this car will finally be a keeper! Thanks guys, more than I can say.Cheers,
