It's a snowy winter throughout most of the top half of the country and the south is feeling the chill as well, so it's a good time to think about sunny LA, especially of a time when the National City Lines operated a wonderful fleet of narrow-gauge PCCs liveried in colors befitting sunny California. These PCCs outlived the last of the Pacific Electric trains by two years. These MSTS renditions are in the paint shop and are not exactly like the prototypes (which lacked couplers) but are nonetheless guaranteed to bring back some memories to fans who remember them. They will be made available after they are completed and tested. Until then, stay warm.Frederick Dreany

RE: LA's

Frederick,
Outstanding. They must be either PCC 1 or PCC 2.
I remember them well. I rode the crybaby on the last day to the Vernon & Santa Fe yard. I await their release. My Computer specs are in my profile

RE: LA's

Your model is great!! I lived in LA for several years in the 50s, and rode the P line frequently and the other four occasionally. Thanks very much for creating this car. I can't wait to get it!Are you going to create a model of the second group of cars, with standee windows?

RE: LA's

I have just uploaded the Los Angeles PCC. Look for it in the Train-Sim file library in a day or two. As for the post-war model with standee windows, I was considering doing that one as well. My question is: Do you like it in the National City Lines orange, green and white or the MTA two-tone green? Frederick Dreany

Just noticed something wrong with the PCC models

Frederick, if you look at the lower body front in the two-tone green "P" car picture I attached above notice that the body does not cut off as in all the PCC models but has a smooth curved front. I looked at several PCC photos and they all have this front. Can the MSTS models be scaled with the smooth transitional lower front?I know your not the creator of the MSTS model but maybe you know how to achive the correct looking front.Rich

RE: Just noticed something wrong with the PCC models

Rich:
First of all, thank you for your interest in the LA trolley.
While there are some things I can do to alter the original model such as cutting out various window shapes, I cannot change the basic shape of the 3D model or remove the Tomlinson couplers (commom on Boston & Toronto PCC trolley fleets). The builder of the model may read your note however, and if there is enough demand, who knows? In the meantime, you can look for the LA post-war model similar to the one in the picture above, but in the same color scheme as the earlier model. Obviously, it took less time to convert it than doing a new color scheme from scratch. I am about to upload it to the file library.Regards,
Frederick Dreany

RE: Just noticed something wrong with the PCC models

Frederick,Outstanding work. I'll be downloading that car as soon as I can. Of course, you've raised the bar with your many PCC skins. Thanks for the efforts,Cheers,
