The most enjoyable part of MSTS for me is the ability to go back in time to experience another era. Andre Ming (Coonskin) called it a time machine and he is right on with this description. The L&PS was gone long before I became interested in it. There are some remnants left - the CN Talbot sub and the Port Stanley Terminal Rail operate on some of the old L&PS right of way. But, for the most part, you have to look hard to find the bits that are left. Port Stanley, once the busy port for lake steamships and the resort destination for the city dwellers is now a quiet sleepy village. Other lakeside communities have overtaken it in popularity for the beach crowd and time between ship dockings is measured in years. Here are a couple of 1920's shots from around the L&PS route along with the current appearance of the area.

Good grief, which ones are the photos and which ones are the screenshots?! Outstanding work, Wayne, well done. I'll really have to get off my can and finish the L&PS 1100, after I've finished the Mesaba stuff.Cheers,

Wow, Wayne. That's looking very awfully good. Nice to compare the photo's and the screenpics of your route. And nice to recognize so many parts on the photo's again on your screenpics.I have done some railway archeology myself in the Netherlands and Germany and I always found it thrilling to try to find out how the situation was by comparing old photo's and the situation by now. And sometimes, you're lucking by finding a rail spike or a milestone or a rusty sign somewhere in the wooods.Dick van den HovenL&PS Then and Now – image 4

Wayne,
You know your screenshots always amaze me! Like Matt says, which are the screengrabs and which are the photos??? Your view of Talbot Street in the sim is remarkable. It looks like an old postcard view, from the era. I'm always on the lookout for your posts, and visit your website regularly to see "what's new". Great work!Any news on L-1?Tim

Amazing work. You're taking Microsoft Train Simulator to a whole new level. The buildings are fantastic as are the streets, trolley hangers, etc. You're an inspiration!Frederick Dreany

That's unbelievable! I've been to St. Thomas before on a trip accross the Atlantic, and it's better than sifting through my memory. Keep up the good work.Harley
