Matt
It was a copy of Sunset Lines Vol.1, A very rare book on the CA&E and very helpful as it has track plans showing not only company trackage but industry tracks and sidings(means I've got to redo some trackage now) at first I told my Mother in law that I couldn't accept such an expensive gift(last I looked the book was about 100 or more if you can find it) but it turned out Barnes & Noble was clearing it at 36.00 and was glad to be rid of it.

Tim
Actualy it was a bittersweet Christmas 24 hours later I would be informed that around the time that photo was snapped that an old friend had passed away of a sudden heart attack at 40 years of age.
As for the Portland Traction book can't hurt to have B&N check their computer for you as well.

RE: Pic of a surprised CA&E fan

Yes David, but it more or less is a corporate history, with very little line history, or car information. Still, tho, it's about the best single source of Portland Traction history I've come upon. I've actually worn the binding off of my copy!Tim
