Traction fans: The Boston MTA picture window PCC is here just in time for the holidays and has been uploaded to the file library. The streetcars built in 1951 were 6" wider than Boston's other PCCs and were a Boston area exclusive until Brooklyn recently acquired three of them. By the way, the previously uploaded Brooklyn ex-Boston streetcar may get a texture fix and be uploaded as upd3303 in the near future.Frederick Dreany

Frederick,Do me a favor and don't come any farther forward in time than your orange "T" PCC . I'm working on repaints from the present day back to the "Grey Ghost" scheme, and now that you've released your versions, I plan to look at the textures and modify mine slightly to match. I was hoping to obtain the 3ds file from Matt Harter so that I could slightly modify it for the picture window version (especially since I've learned how to animate doors from working on the Boeing LRV), but I see you've adapted the window pattern to look good on Matt's existing model.http://bostonterminal.web1000.com for in-progress screenshots of the PCCs I'm working on. Alex, that's a fine shot there. I remember seeing the grey PCC once on a trip to Boston and it is a handsome color scheme. my repaints have been evolving, hence the recent updates. The "T" car includes some revised files for the other two picture window cars. The textures are done in Photoshop and the windows are cut out using alpha channels. The interior file uses the same alpha channel cutouts as the exterior file. I must admit that I cringe a bit when I look at some of the earlier units that I posted as there have some revisions since then and some errors are there also. You can certainly feel free to use any of my textures in whole or in part or improve on them, whatever is your wish and include them with your uploads. I'll take a rest, revise the older PCCs on my computer and look forward to seeing some Boston layouts to run them on, in the future.
