Being from that area, can anyone modify one of the current fleet of PCC's to look like a Minneapolis/St. Paul version? This were post-war all electrics, with standee windows tinted green, no full length air duct, and they were 16 inches wider than a standard car. (That's why they had a hard time selling them when the system went bus.)

RE: Twin City PCC

I would also be interested since a few of those ended up on the Shaker Heights line - part of which follows the route I'm working on.What year did the Twin Cities go bus? I know the PCCs didn't last very long there.

RE: Twin City PCC

The first car was an "air" PCC diverted from a Pittsburgh order so that Twin City Lines could test one, which became 299. The next forty cars started arriving in 1946 and were all-electrics 300-339, and were the only two-man cars. The balance arrived in 1947-48, 340-439 which were all one-man cars. The Shaker Heights cars were all from the one-man group with scattered numbers. There's a number of pictures of these on my web site at: http://davesrailpix.railfan.net/tcrt/tcrt.htm
