I'm proposing to use some of the sounds from this car in my R17 stock. The ones in particular are the traction motors, and the compressor. When I look at the readme files it says that they are aliased to the HHL!Have I added the sounds from something else or is matts readme not 100%?The files in particular are (all ".wav"):- ctaaircomp15 tmcruise0 tmcruise1 airwhistle3a airwhistle3bplus the x_ternal soundsThe airwhistle is for the R1, plus the others could all be used for all the R-type NYCTA cars.Anyway heres hoping the author will be kind.Another few current shots of the R17s as currently exist. paul
When I built the 10ME, I aliased the HHP sounds as the fantastic sounds from Tim, Chuck and the PCCC guys didn't then exist. These new sounds completely changed things and really sound the part. I'm not sure if the 10ME has been repackaged with these sounds, but I'm glad to see it if it has. I haven't yet had a chance to download the latest Mesaba route with No 10, but hope to do so soon. BTW, I still have a few improvements to do on number 10, with a proper animated cabview and detail improvements (I haven't given up!)Cheers, Matt A
Paul, Matt (and anyone else interested, I've uploaded the sounds I've now attached to the Mesaba Electric #10 car in a file called "10sound.zip" You can get it here (1.5MB): http://davesrailpix.railfan.net/msts/10sound.zip
>I have blueprints (or copies of blueprints) of all New York >subway cars from R1 to R110B. I'll scan them for you if you >want them. How can I get the blue prints of the R110B from you?Do you or anyone one else have any blue prints for any of the Newer rollingstock? R142/3 M-7??TIA
You don't really need blue prints. I use dimensions for My M-7 and could figure out the rest. You might like my M-7 in progress. The textures are only temp ones. Alex Stroshane said he might do the textures. You might want to go to my website www.trainweb.org/nhtrain I only guessed the spot where the third rail shoe is. Could any one tell me? Thanks in advance.-NHtrain
Just for your information, those cars are now in regular service on the Long Beach line. They run one early train and one late train, so it's hard to catch them.
Paul: They just keep looking better and better. As I've mentioned before, I practically lived on these cars (and some do) during the years that I was working, so I'd love to have these in MSTS. With the new sounds they're going to be dynamite units. They look like they're almost ready. Love to try some repaints on these as well. I did some of the PCC, (Matt Harter's 3D model), repaints currently in the file library. I'd ask your permission to upload if I do.Fred Dreany (Thirdrail70)
