They are the CBTC/ATO compatable R143 subway cars. They run the L-line, which will be resignaled and evenually automated, and on weekends on the M-line. These are the newest cars of the NYCTA. They have replaced all slant end R40s on the L and most R40Ms and R42s on the L. The slant end R40s now reside on the Q express and N lines. These would be a great car to model, the only difficulty would be the automated voice.
Entering Myrtle Avenue station:
"This is Myrtle Avenue. Transfer is available to the M train."
Doors open broadcast inside and oustide of train:
"This is a Canarsie bound L train. The next stop is Hasley Avenue."
Doors open broadcast inside of train:
"Stand clear of the closing doors, please!"

RE: Does anyone want to model these?

I assume you know of www.nycsubway.org because you like the MTA as much as I do.
Something interesting is happening on the B-Division soon. Click on Upcoming Events and scroll to the bottom of the page. The NYTM is reopening soon too. I've waited over a year to be able to go back there.
By the way, the only subway line I haven't been on is the Z-train.
