Due to another route being constructed containting the entire 5-line, I have decided to make a major change. The route is to be handed back to the New York Westchester and Boston Railroad, a subsidary of the New Haven. This will contain the segment in the Bronx from the E180 Street terminal to the border of Westchester County, and possibly up to White Plains. As soon as the NALW MP54 is released, those will be the default rolling stock for the line. Changes will include: 4 track mainline Overhead Wires (Hopefully someone will make triangular catenary similar to the New Haven) Change of alignment at E180 Street Low level platformsRelease of the route will be significantly delayed.
Bravo! I hardly dared hope!Have you seen Arcara's book on the Westchester? The only low platforms you need are south of E. 180th Street, along shared right of way with the New Haven. The rest of it was all high platform.Main Line catenary was the same as that later used on the New Haven's extension east from Stamford to New Haven. The Port Chester branch used simple catenary. My copy of Arcara is at hand. E-mail me directly if you want any information. -Phil
