Testing, testing, 1-2-3...I'm uploading the YVT 298 as is, without a cab interior, so that some of you may try her out on your pikes. The cab view is from the first steeplecab released a few months ago, the PRL&P 1403, and it's cousin, the black PEPCO version. I am interested in comments from the traction fraternity, so feel free to email me with suggestions and ideas at timmuir@wcn.net .This motor has sounds from Vittorio Dell'Aquila's Italian electric locomotive custom sound package, and has been edited by Chuck Zeiler, for the time being until prototype #298 sounds can be obtained and edited in.
The cabview and interior modeling is under developement and will be uploaded with a sound package when available. This is an entirely new model from the ground up, slightly larger than the 48-tonner. A Portland Electric Power version is also under developement, as is a Chicago North Shore and Milwaukee version in the hands of another developer at this time.Hope you all enjoy this new motor, and that some of you will re-paint it to your favourite roads.Cheers!Tim

We decided to take her out for a run on the L&PS, but we had a little problem. The boys were none too happy about walking 4 miles back to town to get help. This is how I found her - looking very pretty - but stuck solid. ( Seriously, nice work here Tim - thanks for a great model! )Wayne

BRRRR!!!!! Your post leaves me cold!!!! Very Nice pictures, Wayne! Looks like a plow (plough) is in order, huh? I don't know if the Sweeper could tackle that drift. And you're quite welcome for the model!Cheers!Tim

Tim,
I took the 298 for a spin on the Duluth, Winnipeg & Pacific in January. It's a little slippery with loaded boxcars, needed a lot of sand. Great loco!!! That's the Mesaba Electric crossing overhead, with the Duluth, Missabe & Northern bridge in the far background.

Dave,
That's really sweet! Are you going to make that into a Christmas card?It sounds like we need to add a little ballast to the 298! I'll see about getting the boys down at the shop to weld some sheet-iron to the frames for that added traction. Thanks!Tim
