The London & Port Stanley Railroad interchanges with four steam roads along its 24 mile length. Here it skirts past the back of the Wabash engine servicing terminal at the north end of St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada. This facility dates back to 1873, but the L&PS still has priority at the diamond, since its tracks were laid through here 17 years earlier. These shots were taken in 1923 at various locations around the terminal area showing the roundhouse, sandhouse, turntable and the coaling tower in the distance.Credits: Barrels and Drums - by Okrasa Ghia L&PS Track -UK Fine Scale by Tim Booth Coaling Tower - John Calfo USRA Consolidation by Clifford Timm & Chris Lee(The L&PS is a route I have under construction in my spare time with no timetable for release.)
Okay, now that I've found my eyeballs after they popped right out, I can pick my jaw off the floor, and say---ASTOUNDING! Another well done Wayne. It was worth the wait. I even recognize the ash hoist from photos! Are you planning on uploading any of these fine structures?Ok, now I can make my little post.Great work!Tim
Ya, its too bad the Wabash had to build this smokey steam kettle facility right next to my nice clean L&PS tracks. Look at all the grimy stuff I had to build. I don't even know what half of this junk is I do plan to release all the smaller detail items, but I am not sure how useful the structures would be. They are some distance from the L&PS tracks so I modelled them with very low polycount and little detail. The roundhouse is detailed on the back, but not on the front. Most people will want to run their steam locos right up to them and will be disappointed at the lack of detail. This hobby is certainly a lot of fun. Route Building, 3D Modelling, Activities, Sounds, Signals, 'Photography' not to meantion just running the trains. It has so many interesting facets. There just isn't enough time in a day to get everything done. Thanks for the nice comments. Wayne
Oh my gawd!!!! I was there two weeks ago!!!Very, very nice job Wayne! I know that you may only be doing this in your spare time, but I can tell you that a lot of people are waiting for it!Dan
