Hi Everyone; I am looking for a file for the 1100 and PEPCO trolleys called pwindow.ace. Does this file actually exist? If so, can someone help me acquire it. By the way, I changed the horn sounds to the doodlebug. I thought it might be more authentic. Thanks in advance for any help. Chuck.
Chuck, I re-painted the 1100 by Matt Austin, into the PEPCO and PRL&P cars. I don't recall ever seeing a file called pwindow.ace. Is this file being flagged in the consist editor? You can email me at timmuir@wcn.net for further discussion if you want.Tim
Hi Tim; Conbuilder 1.5.1 keeps telling me that pwindow.ace specified by the file 1100.cvf does not exist in the same folder.......Trainset/1100/cabview. Same error message for cars 1198, 1204, RPO, & PTCSweeper. Love the work you did; used to ride British Columbia Electric interurban trams as a kid. Thanks again; Chuck.
Hi Chuck,Have you tried using the default MSTS Consist Editor? The reason I ask is, I've had problems with Conbuilders in the past. It rejects cars that I know work in MSTS for dubious reasons. I only use it to check files. Try using the default consist editor. It should work as is.Tim
Hi Chuck,Despite the splitting headache I have, I vaguely recall mention being made to pwindow.ace somewhere in the cabview file of the 1100 (which was a modified version of a Victorian P class loco, hence the name....) It might be the window image for the front view, I can't remember off the top of my head. I'm currently an hour and a half away from my own PC so I can't check the .cvf, but I'll check it tomorrow afternoon when I get home and either send you the .ace file or an updated .cvf file that doesn't refer to the .ace file. I hope the 1100 is giving you some entertainment, not just causing headaches. I'm working on a new high-resolution cab with animated controls and all new views to make it more realistic. All the best, Matt A
Hi Matt; The problem of the missing file is purely an academic one. The cars run and look great! I understand new sounds are being developed, which will make them even more authentic. You are right, either the .ace file or a new .cvf file would solve the problem. Thanks, Chuck. cb.fowler@shaw.ca
Hi,The changes to the 1100.cvf file are easy. Open the file with WordPad, since it is a unicode file.The upper section of the file should look like this section: CabViewType ( 2 ) CabViewFile ( pcab.ace ) CabViewWindow ( 0 0 640 480 ) CabViewWindowFile ( "" ) Position ( 0.92 2.4 6.95 ) Direction ( 0 0 0 ) CabViewFile ( cableft.ace ) CabViewWindow ( 0 0 640 480 ) CabViewWindowFile ( "" ) Position ( 0.92 2.4 6.95 ) Direction ( 0 -70 0 ) CabViewFile ( cabright.ace ) CabViewWindow ( 0 0 640 480 ) CabViewWindowFile ( "" ) Position ( 0.92 2.4 6.95 ) Direction ( 0 70 0 )The point is that the CabViewWindowFile parameter should only have a 2 double quotes between the curled brackets and no file name.
