Hey guys has anyone noticed that the default Dash 9's compressor sound for the exterior views doesnt work? I only hear it when incab. I think this is also the case for the default GP38 as I dont notice the compressor on the outside but only when in the cab. Is there any way to fix this? Matt
I've been playing with sound for the last month, and the problem you mentioned is a bug in the program. None of the external compressor sounds work. Apparently, the trigger for them isn't available in the external views.
It does seem that the various triggers only function in certain view. Also, some trigger numbers represent different events in different views. This all appears to be 'hard coded'.
Matt, some of the problem is a limitation to the number of audio streams as well. Run one engine and stick your head out the window, you can hear environmental sounds, cars, crossings, etc.. Run 4 locomotives and it all goes away. Not sure if the limitation is, OS, soundcard, or MSTS though. R. Easterday (DokkenSound)
LAST EDITED ON Apr-10-02 AT 06:59 AM (EST)Hey Rob did you try goosing up the "sound config" memory useage? I doubled mine for all "SL levels" and it seems to help this....But it still doesn't give you external compressor sounds ------Chuck Schneider--------- -----"Power for You"-------
