I'm trying to figure out why I don't hear the compressor sound for any of NALW's P42 Genesis engines. I hear the sound in the cab, but not externally. There are two wav files aliased in the common.snd folder\Genesis folder for the compressor, the internal version (P40compressor1.wav) and the external one (x_P40compressor1.wav). They are referenced through two files, one for the internal cab (Genesiscab.sms) which plays this sound perfectly, and one for the external engine called (Genesiseng.sms). Each of these files refers to the corresponding wav file and are setup very similar. The main difference is that when switching to an external view you cannot hear the x_P40compressor1.wav file.I'm not sure if it's getting stepped on by another sound or what to even check. I tried changing the priority within the .sms file to a higher value, but it didn't seem to help. Can anyone point me in the right direction here? You can duplicate the problem by installing the gen_pak1-4 and gen_snd2 files. I think everything is there, but something just needs tweaked. I'd appreciate anyone shedding light on this.

RE: Genesis Sounds...

Genesis Sounds – image 1

I seem to recall that the Genesis aliases a sound from the default HHP locomotive for a compressor effect. If you do not have this in your trainset folder then some sounds may not work. But it's been a while since I checked the Genesis sound.Genesis Sounds – image 2
