I found my error. Sorry for the distraction. In the hopes that others my learn from my lack of attention to detail, my error was that in cutting in pasting the VolumeCurve from the Player locomotive I pasted this.... VolumeCurve ( Variable2Controlled It should have been changed to

VolumeCurve (SpeedControlledOnly took me over an hour to find it (sheeze! do I feel stupid)
