Best Soudns for the MSTS SD40 (-2)

HeyWhat are the best SD40 sounds for MSTS?? I know a lot of people released some, but which are "As real as it gets"??Redfox

MLT's SD40-2 (SD45, SD40T-2, SD45T-2) sounds are good, but I think the SD40-2 sounds in the 1.2 update are pretty good.-Dave

Personally, I think MLTs from Cascades Crossing is the best sound set and I have several others (v1.2, Dekosoft, older MLT, and multiple freewares from the file library). MLTs CC set definitely sound better outside the cab, and are most definitely the best AI sounds around. However, Dekosoft has the coolest radio sounds (which adds to the realism, IMHO), so I merged the Deko radio sounds (I have the CSX ones, but there are others) with the MLT engine sounds into one .sms file and I am extremely happy with those results.

I found for payware that MLT's had the best sounds.Dekosofts come in a very close second but you get great results when you merge the best of the two.For radio chatter its easy to do as I've done it for our BCRail loco's and recordings I gathered over time of radio chatter and using a program like Goldwave to edit them.Just Rollin Down The Tracks

HeyWow! I guess that MLT done it well this time!! I would love to have them sounds (the MLt ones) but one problem: My computer isn't big enough for CC. )Is there a way that somebody can send me the sounds for the SD40 and GP60??Redfox

Easy now. If you would like a second option, see if anywhere is selling the MLT SP Heritage Packs. The Cascades sounds are the same as the ones in those packs. Hope that helps ya some.

That would be the update with BNSF SD40-2 8010, a Reefer, a Cement Hopper, and a BN Caboose.-Dave
