Hello,
I am trying to create station announcements using sound sources.
I have created a sound source SMS file like this:Tr_SMS ( ScalabiltyGroup( 3
Activation (
ExternalCam ()
PassengerCam ()
CabCam ()
Distance (200)
)
Deactivation ( Distance (200)
)
Stereo ( )
Volume ( 1.0 )
Streams ( 1
Stream (
Priority ( 2 )
Triggers ( 1
Variable_Trigger ( Distance_Dec_Past 30
PlayOneShot ( 1
File ( "Catania.wav" -1 )
SelectionMethod (SequentialSelection)))
)
VolumeCurve(
SpeedControlled
CurvePoints ( 5
-100.0 0.0
-0.01 0.0
0.0 1.0
0.01 0.0
100.0 0.0
)
Granularity (0.01)
)
)
)
)
)So the file should play when the train has reached the station and only if it stops (The first part of the .wav file has silence).
But the SpeedControlled Volume curve seems not to work! My file is heard even if the train is not stopped.
Does someone know if Sound source volume curves can be speed dependent?Carlo

RE: Speed-dependent sound source SMS file

Maybe the Speed VolumeCurve is working! But what Speed value is it aware of? I think it is aware only of it's own speed, which for a Sound Source is always 0!Apart from Initial, Random and Distance I have not found any other commands to work in sound sources. I've found the Distance value to be that between the camara co-ordinates and the Sound Source co-ordinates. So for cab and passenger views this is accurately related to the Player Trains location, but for external views has no real worth.
