anyone know how to plant triggered sound files into an activity?example: something like the "OK to proceed" voice-over you hear on certain activites when leaving a station.I'd like to add some clips like: "next stop...Cucamonga" triggered a mile or two before station stops, or "all aboard!" when leaving.
thanks

I can't help you with any new sounds however you can replace the "OK to proceed" with "All Aboard" by downloading Stephen Shoemaker's allabrd.zip file from the file library. You have a good idea. I hope you share any new sound files you come up with.

Create a sound region in the route a mile or two before a stop, the wave file must be appropriate for the station though, say "next stop...Cucamonga". And in the main sound folder you can replace the standard "okay to proceed" with a wave file that plays "all aboard!" There's a replacement in the file library. I can't recall the name right now. In the sound section. Alright, while I was typing, your question was answered already!

RE: Triggered sound clips in an activity

I have done this to create a "talking detector" but there are 2 problems.
First I cannot get the sound to play just in the cab.
I have tried changing the "activate and de-activate" settings but I get a distorted sound in the cab, back to the drawing board.Second the sound will trigger as you approach the station stop, but also as you leave. If its a 2 track line you could try placing the sound marking off to one side of the track.I have not tried using the passenger view to see if that is ok.If are still in the dark, post another message am I sure someone will talk you though.AndyUK

Remember sounds for inside needs to be 16 bit stereo and sounds for the outsite 16 bit mono.

RE: Triggered sound clips in an activity

That does not appear to be the problem.
You can force MSTS to except either with the statement
Stereo ()Th sound is not double or half speed as it is if the the format ir wrong, in this case it's "Stutered"., much like a Dalek (for the DR Who addicts).Anyway, I am trying.AK
