RE: Front or Rear ? parameter exist ?

It seems impossible.SMS script use absolute distance, there are no concept of it's in front of your loco or not (in fact it's distance to viewpoint). If that's your loco sound, there are a speed variable can be negative and can be checked, but......

Hello wdq4587,
can the speed variable be negative? In the .sms triggers normally You use only positive speed, and it works even if the loco is going backwards.Carlo

RE: Front or Rear ? parameter exist ?

A trigger seems only use absolute speed. But the speed variable can be negative. Like this: FrequencyCurve(
SpeedControlled
CurvePoints ( 8
-30 11025
0.000 0
5 2000
10 4000
15 6000
20 8000
25 10000
30 12000
)
Granularity ( 50 )
)
To tfox distance is calcuated by formula like this:d = SQRT( (x2-x1)^2+(y2-y1)^2+(z2-z1)^2 )So it can not be negative. It's 3D distance, not 1 Dimension distance.

Hello,>A trigger seems only use absolute speed. But the speed
>variable can be negative. Like this: Yes, i know, but it's not the same thing, your in the parameter FrequencyCurve, or if you want VolumeCurve.Not me, my parameter is : Distance_Dec_Past 30And, try to put a negative value........If the distance decrease 30, there, the sound play..In rear or in front off you.There no parameter to deffine if the enfine is in rear or in front of you, or, if she go in the same way like you.François.

RE: Front or Rear ? parameter exist ?

Hello,Well, we are ok.But, now, if i write :
Distance_Inc_Past 25, play toto.wavIf the AI arrived in front of me, so, the sound play if the engine is after me. ( sorry for my english !!)For me, it's ok !! I want engine play the sound after..But if the engine come in rear, the sound play after ! And not before me !And i don't want that.......But, this parameter doesn't exist, and now stop this discution for a moment and Merry Christmas ! François.
