There are only 2 basic ways, that I am aware of, to synchronize prime mover sounds to throttle position, or more accurately load. The 1st method consists of separate wave files for each of the different throttle positions/loads you want to depict. These may be blended and shifted but there are still discrete sound streams for each prime mover RPM or Power Point. This is the method Kuju used. The 2nd method consists of a very few, sometimes only 1, sound sample shifted by frequency/volume depending on throttle position/load and also by speed....Hope this helps?Chuck Schneider (Virtual) CEO North American (Virtual) Locomotive Works
Sure, if you look at one of our sound streams for instance, you would see that the steps are actually base or carrier frequencies if you will... "adjust" those to suit....Chuck Schneider (Virtual) CEO North American (Virtual) Locomotive Works
But as we know we have horn and bell in loco-Can we add third sound like whistle to locos .sms file and how to put it in cab to work if it possible? www.zone.ee/msts
>Is possible to make sound by this way-not pitched and rpm >changes by moving "throttle" ?The engine have in max. >velocity max.rpm? Of course you can.But that's not a good idea for Diesel-Electirc loco and may be all diesel loco. Except for AI loco there are no throttle variable available. Even for helper loco, it's still not a good idea although there are MSTS bug for helper loco no throttle variable can be use. I want to change sound setting of the helper loco, but I found if there are silence in primary loco, helper loco still make louder sound will be bad than no change.
